HLA-LA Hearing
Loss Association of America is the nation's largest organization
for people with hearing loss. HLA-Los Angeles is one of more
than 200 chapters nationwide and our mission is to open the
world of communication through information, education, advocacy
and support.
We want you to know that you are not alone.
It is estimated that 1 out of 10 of us has some
degree of hearing loss and this loss impacts every aspect of
our lives. Our goal is to educate ourselves, our families, friends,
co-workers, teachers, hearing health care providers, government
agencies and others about hearing loss. While we promote the
concept of self-help, we work to sensitize the general population
about the special needs of those with hearing loss, it's nature
and causes.
